Brestov, castle (perished)

Brief description

Remains of a small perished castle, which was built probably in the second half of the 13th century and destroyed in the 14th century. It was discovered in 1975 by J. Macák.

Situation

On the hill Zámčisko, in location Pánsky les, circa 1 km east from Brestov.

Exterior

The castle was built at an area 20 x 8 m and rounded by a bulwark and a moat. On the SW side there was a level space 10 x 6 m, which was probably used for a bridge over the moat.

History

The castle was owned according to M. Slivka to Bodon family.
